Overview - Utilities

Your licensed application may have been delivered with several Sentinel RMS utilities which are used to install, configure, or to report on the license management system.

Given below is a list of these utilities and their brief description.

Note: The following utilities are supported on Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Server 2008.

echoid	User or higher	Command-line	Obtains fingerprinting information about a computer that will be used to generate a license.
wechoid	User or higher	Graphical	The Windows interface of echoid.
echouid	User or higher	Command-line	Obtains information about a license that will be used to generate an upgrade license.
loadls	Administrator	Command-line	Installs/ uninstalls the license server into the System Services registry and starts the service.
lservnt	Administrator	Command-line	Starts the license server.
lcommute	Administrator	Command-line	Command-line utility to check a commuter authorization out or back into the network.
Wcommute	Administrator	Graphical	Used on computers to check an authorization for a commuter license out or back into the network.
rcommute	User or higher	Command-line	Used for obtaining a commuter locking code and installing a remote commuter authorization received.
WRCommute	User or higher	Graphical	The Windows interface of rcommute.
lslic	Administrator	Command-line	Installs a license. You need the license code from your application developer.
lsmail	Administrator	Command-line	Set the SMTP server, which will be used by the RMS license server to send alerts via e-mail.
lsmon	Administrator	Command-line	Monitors license server transactions. For Windows computers, you may want to use WlmAdmin.
lspool	Administrator	Command-line	Temporarily configures the redundant license server pool.
lsrvdown	Administrator	Command-line	Shuts down the license server.
lsusage	Administrator	Command-line	Displays information from a license server log file. Can be used to produce CSV files used with ReportDB.mdb (Microsoft Access 2000 or higher) on Windows computers to create license token usage reports.
lswhere	Administrator	Command-line	Displays the names and IP address of the computers on the network running license servers. For Windows computers, you may want to use WlmAdmin.
rlftool	Administrator	Command-line	Used for creating the redundant license files (for specifying redundant license configuration)
WRlfTool	Administrator	Graphical	Used for creating the redundant license files (for specifying redundant license configuration)
WlmAdmin	Administrator	Graphical	Allows adding and managing licenses on the customer site, plus few other administrator tasks (like, shutting down the license server, changing the usage log file, or locating the license servers in the subnet).
