There are several utilities you can use to install a redundant license (lslic, rlftool, and WRlfTool). However, we recommend using lslic to add a redundant license because you will not have to stop and restart the redundant license servers for the change to take effect. If you need the licenses to be added to a remote license server, set the LSFORCEHOST environment variable on the computer on which you are using lslic to the computer containing the redundant license server to which you want to add the license code even if you are running lslic on the license server’s computer.
Note: You may only use lslic to add redundant licenses after all the redundant license servers have been started with a redundant license file, lservrlf. For more information on redundant license servers and on using lslic to add redundant licenses, see Using lslic to Add Redundant Licenses.
