What are License Codes?
The software usage terms and conditions, agreed upon by you and software
vendor, are stored as digital data called license
codes. Here are the few characteristics of a license code:
- The license code indicates
terms, like the maximum number of concurrent users of the application,
the computers on which the application can be run, the license expiration
date (if any).
- The license codes are
stored in a file called the license
file. Multiple license codes may be stored in a single license
file.
- The licensed application
may use one or more license codes. One license code may provide, for example,
the right for four users to use the application at once, while another
provides the right to two users to use the application at once. In this
case, six users would be able to run the application at once using both
license codes. If you need to add another concurrent user, this can easily
be done by obtaining an additional license code from your vendor.
