The licensed application is installed separately on each client computer.
The license server can be installed and run on multiple computers. It can be installed on any computer, even a computer that is used to run one of the licensed applications. The application running on a client may choose any available license server with a valid license code for that client.
You may need to install the Sentinel RMS license server using its installer (which may be provided by your vendor or can be downloaded from the SafeNet web site at http://www.safenet-inc.com.
Note: Before you install the license server, make sure that you have manually uninstalled the license server using the Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs option. Look for the entry Sentinel RMS License Manager under the list of programs.
Double-click the Sentinel RMS License Manager (license server) setup.exe.
By default, the RMS License Server (Sentinel RMS License Manager) is installed at the following path on Windows: <OSDrive>:\Program Files\Common Files\SafeNet Sentinel. However, this path can be customized during the installation process.
If the Sentinel RMS license server is not added under the Windows Firewall exceptions, the communication between the clients requesting licenses and the RMS license server cannot take place.
The Sentinel RMS License Manager (license server) installer adds this entry, by default. If you change this default addition during the installation, you need to manually allow the Sentinel RMS License Manager (license server). Here are the steps:
