Once you have been given a license code it must be installed where it can be found by the RMS license management system.
For a stand-alone application, usually the license code is installed in the same directory as the application. Your vendor may provide you with a program to install the license code. Alternatively, the vendor may have configured the licensed application to install the license code. If neither of these is the case, then the lslic utility may be used to install the license code on a Windows or UNIX computer.
Note: If your vendor has configured the application itself to install the license code, then a license installation utility will guide you through obtaining a license code and getting a locking code. You may be presented with several different options for obtaining the license code, including using the Internet, calling your vendor on the telephone, or using a fax or email service.
