About the License File
Usually the lslic utility is used to install the license code in the
license file in the same directory in which the license server resides.
By default, the license file is named lservrc, and it may contain multiple
license codes.
Here are few recommended settings for the license file:
- The default location
of the license file is in the default license server directory. It’s best
to leave the location of the license file there.
- For non-redundant license
servers, the default name of the license file is lservrc.
For redundant license servers, the default name of the license file is
lservrlf. A redundant license
server can service both redundant and non-redundant license codes if both
types of license files are available to the license server.
- The license server must
have read/write access to the license file when the license installation
program is being executed. If you are having a problem installing license
codes, then you should verify that the license server has read/write access
to the license file.
Tip:
If the license
server cannot find the license file and error logging is enabled, it will
log the error in the error log file.
